Visit the town of Hot Springs, an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise.  A natural hot spring is located here, the only such spring known in North Carolina and in much of the southeastern United States. Thus, this area has long since been a destination for those looking for therapeutic relief and relaxation.

Hot Springs has a lot to offer, it is 40 miles north of Asheville at the junction of the Appalachian Trail and the French Broad River. The Appalachian Trail runs along downtown's Bridge Street and climbs the mountains on either side of the river.

Rafting with Mountain Adventure Guides and kayaking is popular on the French Broad River itself, providing a perfect environment to do a little white water rafting or canoeing. Great for adults and children alike, white water rafting can be a wonderful way to let loose and have some fun. There are numerous other hiking, mountain biking, backpacking, and sightseeing opportunities in the nearby Pisgah National Forest.

Llama Trekking
Hot Springs has an endless number of hiking trails that explore the very beauty that surrounds Western North Carolina.

Take a load off and do your exploring on horseback or have a Llama carry your gear. You can enjoy all the same wilderness whether you are on foot or on horseback.

After a long hard day of exploring and rafting, you may want to just relax and take it easy. Visit the Hot Springs Mineral Spa for just what the doctor ordered. Soothe your pains away in the only hot natural mineral baths in North Carolina.
